Bible Memory
We are on Week 5 of our Bible lessons. Reciting Psalm 1:2 and 3 is due Monday. Notice we are not saying all of it, but as shown below.
5) Psalm 1:2 & 3 “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water…Whatever he does prospers.”

Christmas Party
The class Christmas party will be on Friday the 17th. Look for further information in today’s Wednesday packet. There is a form to be returned, and a sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board outside the classroom door. Meanwhile, we’re working hard to use our available time to finish activities for Sarah, Plain and Tall and our Southeast region unit in Social Studies. Tests will be next week; watch your student’s assignment sheets, please.

Other Changes
For those who were worried about the Science test not happening tomorrow because there will be no school, worry no longer! That will happen as soon as we are back in school, so be ready. When you take a break from playing in the snow, relax with a book (maybe your book report book) and a cup of hot cocoa. Enjoy!

Changes
In light of the “no school” announcement for tomorrow, let me reassure the students that even though it won’t happen on Tuesday, we’ll make sure to fit our feast in somewhere! The applesauce is finished and in the refrigerator (good job, student peeler/corer/slicer operators) and the ingredients for “Cheesy Dogs and Spuds” are gathered in. We’ll hope the Schnabelites have safely stowed their pie and bread as well. Enjoy the snow!

Thanksgiving Feast
Our Thanksgiving Feast will be in cooperation with the 1st and 2nd Grades this year. Parents, you have the opportunity to sign up for ingredients for our class cooking contributions, attend the feast, and help the class with cooking, setup or cleanup, and making decorations. Please look for the list on the bulletin bouard outside the classroom. Thanks so much!

Social Studies Fair
Yum! The class has been enjoying the fruits of their labor this week as we share foods inspired by the states of the Southeast. We’ve had blackberry pie from the student who researched Kentucky and found that blackberries are the state fruit. We’ve also enjoyed homemade peanut butter and peanut butter balls (Alabama), blueberry muffins ( Virginia), and Key lime pie (Florida). Thanks to parents for helping your children with this project.
I hope all students are able to attend the Social Studies Fair tomorrow evening. After the 6:30 dinner, the program will include a fun state song performed by the third and fourth graders. Their “State in a Can” projects will be displayed with others from the rest of the school. Please come and enjoy!
